After nearly 20 years dealing with inkjet and laser printers I'm finally changing my attitude towards refilled ink and re-manufactured toner cartridges. I still think that a great many of these cartridges are done back alley, by using syringes for inks and drilling holes for toner which is only going to lead to increased costs and equipment failure, but there are new techniques and systems that give you original quality.

Why Did You Stop Using Windows Defender & Adaware?

This FAQ is in anticipation of this question of our recent decision to stop using Windows Defender & Adaware on our new systems and in our tune up process.  First the other products we use are more consistantly catching the malware that these two products protect you from.  This means that once we run the other products and clean the malware off the computer, these two products aren't finding any residual bad guys.  This means we are wasting time, adding software to your systems that aren't needed, and increasing the tax on your computer memory and storage space.

After hurricane Ivan and Dennis our shop took in dozens of computers that wouldn't power on. Many were caused by the power surges from generators, from the utility company, or from electrical storms. However, there were many that had picked up a bug, literally.
